  • Poetry on the Morning Announcements
  • Poem in Your Pocket Day - April 30th - Create personal mini anthologies to share on April 30th and a "best of" collective class anthology

2. Create Project - Language Arts (Poetry & Grammar) Numeracy (Design Process) & Tech Ed (Wood Work) & Lino Prints (Magnetic Poetry Kit Cover & Invitation to Poetry Cafe)

  • This is an example of what large wood magnets could look like (burned & unpainted or painted) -- students choose several favourite words from their personal magnetic poetry kits plus punctuation (see below) -- (total number of pieces decided by Jenny)

Large Magnetic Poetry Board: (for Library)
  • Large Magnetic Board (White Board on Wheels Size)
  • Wood Strips - Burn words on to them. Paint them? (as decided by Jenny)
  • Magnets
  • other tech ed supplies - tools, etc.
  • Lino print for cover of tin with symbolic image - soccer ball, sailboat, Halloween pumpkin, etc (several additional prints for invitations to Poetry Cafe)

Enrichment for students:
  • Do extra words & icons - heart, hand, eye, etc....
  • Provide mentorship to other students
  • Document the process - taking photos using iPads & writing a class Project Log (blog) - summaries, brief student interiews, etc.
